The well-supported Redouble scored a good win, aided by a perfect ride by Craig Williams. He settled nicely from his inside barrier (1) in sixth on the rails, behind a good place. Got a split on passing the 200m, hit the front at the 100m and then went on to win well. Sambro raced in fourth place (one out and one back), moved up at the 300m and kept fighting to take second. Shogun Sun settled in seventh place, between runners, improved on straightening and battled on quite well for third. Cadogan held on for (1.3 lengths) well for fourth after a difficult wide trip with Arbeitsam doing well in finishing (1.5 lengths) fifth after leading the field until halfway down the straight in a sound first-up performance.
