The Bicycle and Fencing Center of China Sports Administration and China Equestrian Association (CEA) announced the establishment of China National Equestrian Team on April 12, 2012.

The new team will adapt the measures used in America and Europe and compete in Dressage, Eventing and Show Jumping.

Analysis:

• The new team will compete entirely in Olympic events, undoubtedly aiming at the Asian Games 2014 and the Olympics 2016. It must already have the official support from the Ministry of Sports. It is reported that the China National Equestrian Team will join in a series of games like Sino-America Tournament, Sino-Korean Tournament and FEI games in the second half of 2012.

• The team includes not only professional riders, coaches and core riders, but also some individual owners of high quality horses, most of whom important entrepreneurs.

• On May 31, the China National Equestrian Team held an awarding ceremony for horse owners from Inner Mongolia, Shanghai, Guangdong and Hubei Province. It is believed that the Team is trying to win them over, for example, Hailan from Jiangsu and Jianpeng from Jilin Province.
