The colt made $250,000, a resuit that delighted Glastonbury’s Duncan Grimley.

“He’s a really nice colt,” Grimley said. “Everybody on the ground was on the horse.

“Alan really wanted him, That was his pick and away he went.”

Aquis Farm sold the second top lot of the day, a colt by Exceed And Excel for $240,000.

Shrewd pinhookers Steve and Ceri Jostlear of Ampulla Lodge won the bidding as the colt became the second-most expensive Exceed And Excel weanling sold at an Inglis sale.

Their plan is to take the horse to the yearling sales in 2020.

The day's trade saw 172 weanlings sell at an average of $34,424 with the clearance rate currently 76%.

The average is up 41% while the median has jumped 67%.
